Abstraktion als mentale Operation ist die Entdeckung von Struktur, Regelmäßigkeit, Mustern oder Ordnung innerhalb einer Vielzahl von Wahrnehmungen. Sie erlaubt eine Repräsentation, die Grundlage zur konzeptionellen Neustrukturierung ist.

Abstraction as a mental operation is the discovery of structure, regularity, patterns or order within a variety of perceptions. It allows a representation that is the basis for conceptual restructuring.
