"New product generations are always based on reference products which specify large areas of the basic structure. A reference product is understood to be a predecessor or competitor product on the basis of which the development of a new product generation is to be approached. The new development components of a new product generation are intended to achieve differentiation features from the reference product. The solution space for improving a new product generation compared to reference products is often limited to a variation of the relevant design and process parameters and thus a special challenge for the creative generation of differentiation features to the competition." | |||

ASE-Definition (dt.)
