PLM ist ein integrierter Managementansatz bestehend aus konsistenten Prozessen, Methoden, Modellen und IT-Werkzeugen zum Management von Produktinformationen, Prozessen und Applikationen im gesamten Produktlebenszyklus. PLM adressiert dabei nicht nur einzelne Unternehmen, sondern auch global verteilte sowie interdisziplinäre Kooperationen zwischen OEMs, Zulieferern, Kunden und Partnern.

PLM is an integrated management approach that consists of consistent processes, methods, models, and IT tools to manage product information, processes, and applications throughout the product lifecycle. PLM addresses not only individual companies, but also globally distributed and interdisciplinary cooperation between OEMs, suppliers, customers and partners.
