Widerspruchsfreiheit, bezogen auf die Partialmodelle des Produkt- bzw. Produktionssystemmodells.
- Vertikale Modellkonsistenz bezieht sich auf die Achse Abstraktion/Konkretisierung des Entwurfsraums. D.h. beispielsweise, dass ein verfeinertes Partialmodell mit dem vorangegangenen abstrakten Partialmodell konsistent sein muss.
- Horizontale Modellkonsistenz bezieht sich auf Partialmodelle auf einer Abstraktions/Konkretisierungsstufe. Das können Partialmodelle sein, die in der Konzipierung unterschiedliche Aspekte repräsentieren, oder Partialmodelle der fachdiziplinspezifischen Konkretisierung, z.B. ein 3D-Modell mit einem Softwarekomponentenmodell.

Consistency, in relation to the partial models of the product or production system model.
- Vertical model consistency refers to the abstraction/concretisation axis of the design space. This means, for example, that a refined partial model must be consistent with the preceding abstract partial model.
- Horizontal model consistency refers to partial models at an abstraction/concretisation level. These can be partial models that represent different aspects in the conceptualisation, or partial models of discipline-specific concretisation, e.g. a 3D model with a software component model.
