Unter einem Produktionssystemmodell verstehen wir ein Modell, das ein Produktionssystem rechnerintern repräsentiert. Am Ende der fachdisziplinübergreifenden Konzipierung besteht das Produktionssystemmodell aus einem kohärenten System von Partialmodellen, die jeweils einen Aspekt (Arbeitsablauf, Arbeitsmittel/Betriebsmittel/Ressourcen, Layout Fertigungssystem/Fertigungsstelle/Arbeitsplatz, Materialfluss) repräsentieren. Im Zuge der Konkretisierung (Arbeitsplanung) kommen weitere Partialmodelle hinzu, die in den Aufgabenbereichen (Fachdisziplinen) Arbeitsablaufplanụng, Arbeitsmittelplanung, Arbeitsstättenplanung und Produktionslogistik, insb. Materialflussplanung, entstehen. Es handelt sich in der Regel um fachdisziplinspezifische können. Partialmodelle, die aber auch zu einem gewissen Teil fachdisziplinübergreifend sein können.

We understand a production system model to be a model that represents a production system within a computer. At the end of the interdisciplinary conceptualisation, the production system model consists of a coherent system of partial models, each of which represents an aspect (work process, work equipment/operating materials/resources, layout of production system/production site/workplace, material flow). In the course of concretisation (work planning), further partial models are added, which are created in the task areas (specialist disciplines) of workflow planning, work equipment planning, workplace planning and production logistics, in particular material flow planning. As a rule, these are discipline-specific models. Partial models, but they can also be interdisciplinary to a certain extent.
